Making a welcome return to the Leicester scene, the Mix Munkies are no strangers around these parts! They've headlined at Leicester Pride for 3 years running, held a residency at the Nightingale in the main room on Saturdays for over a year, performed on the Last.fm rising stage at Summer Sundae and conquered dancefloors across the midlands!

MARKY B
Another veteran of the dancefloors, Mark Bowes is a favourite on the club scene having held residencies at the Nightingale, The Core and Streetlife in Leicester.

ADDICT & INFLUENCE
These award winning Leicester-based dance companies are fresh off the set from Sky1's Got To Dance competition where they came very close to landing a spot in the live finals. They'll be partying with us all night as well as giving a special performance in the club room.

So are we! The White Party will combine great music, art and live performance
to provide a club experience like nothing else on offer in Leicester.

You’ve been to Birmingham, Manchester and London. Now it’s time to bring
next level events back to our home ctiy. Our aim amaze you, inspire you, to
give you those hands-in-the-air moments, all night long.

We’re not some big events company looking to line our pockets. We’re a
small group of DJs, promoters and clubbers who know what makes a great
party and we’re fed up with the same old nights out.

Welcome to the new website. Over the last few months we've been really busy with gigs and production and with a lot of big things lined up in 2012 we thought it was time to get things in order!

We are also re-launching our Facebook page in the next few months and deleting the old accounts and groups that we've used over the years so that there's just one page with everything you need to know. click here to join the Mix Munkies Fan Page.

Summer Sundae Weekender

Just a quick one message to let you guys know that we’ve been confirmed on the Last.fm Live stage at Summer Sundae.

The event takes place Fri 12th to Sunday 13th August and we’ll be DJing for the silent headphone disco from 11pm until midnight on the Friday.

Summer Sound Clash

This Saturday we are DJing alongside Danny Byrd, Jack Beats, Stanton Warriors, Foamo and over 20 other DJs at Summer Sound Clash 2011 at Ciros in Ashby-de-la-zouch. Click here for event info.

Our residency at the Nightingale has been extended to every other week which will be bringing us out Birmingham way a lot more from now on. Check out this video of our set last week.

We’re also taking to the decks in a few new venues as they open in Leicester this summer including Buddha Black on Braunstone Gate and Sloanes on King Street.

We’ll be the final act at Leicester Pride for a 3rd year running on the main stage on September 3rd and immediatley after we’ll be whisked away for a main room set at a “secret warehouse party” which will be announced shortly. Stay tuned!

Nightingale, new mix & Republic

Tonight we’re back at the Nightingale Birmingham continuing our monthly residency. We’ll be on in the main room from 3am.

We also just finished a new mix tape! It’s an hour long adventure through funky, tech and progressive house. Have a listen on Soundcloud or Mixcloud

On Monday 7th we’re back at Republic in Leicester as part of Super Star Mondays. We’ll be in the tunnel all night long.

Oxjam, Nightingale, RiSE!

Yesterday we were live on the rush hour show at Demon FM talking about Mix Munkies and playing some tunes. You will be able to download the whole thing from their website in the next few days.

As well as our weekly residency at R/BAR and Superfly on Thursdays, we have got loads of great gig dates coming up!

We’re back at Studio 79, Ciros this Friday and next month on the 5th Nov exporting the big city sound out to the coutryside ravers.

On Saturday we’re at the Oxjam Festival from 9PM-10PM in the Bowstring alongside the legendary Neal Appeal! Chezza will jumping up to put his vocals to our remix of Pretty Blue Eyes!

For Halloween (Sat 30th Oct) we’re taking over RiSE at Envy from 3AM-6AM for Leicesters biggest after party!

Finally, on the 6th Nov we’re back at the Nightingale, Birmingham with a monster 5 hour set all night in the main room from 1AM!

Emporium & Chezza remix

On Saturday 2nd October we will be making our debut performance at Emporium, a legendary club out in Coalville.

The place is huge and has had acts such as Tiesto, Paul Oakenfold and Paul Van Dyke to name a few. We’ll be in the main room performing alongside Dirty Secretz and Nik Denton.

Also next month we'll be releasing are first official remix. It's of the song "Pretty Blue Eyes" by Chezza & the Beat.

Gatecrasher, Life and Stopout

Quebec, home of our Saturday night residency in Leicester has closed down. After 2 years of residency there, we are sad to see it go.

This Saturday we are taking to the stage at Leicesters newest late night party, Stopout at Canvas. We’re looking forward to busting out some dirrrrty electro and fidget for the ravers.

On Thursday 22nd July we will making our debut appearance for LOLLIPOP at Life, Leicester. Drinks are just £1 all night and we’re on the decks from 1am.

Finally, we will be playing alongside AJ Gibson, Dirty Secretz and Subtactix on August 14th at the Gatecrasher Anthems launch party at the Audatorium. This is going to be a massive event, we’ll have more info on it for you in a few weeks. Stay tuned!

Leicester Pride 2010

Last year, we had a lot of fun playing on the DJ stage at Leicester Pride. It was great to see the event return after a couple of years of absence.

This year Leicester Pride is back, returning to it’s original home on Victoria park with even more stalls, fair ground rides and performances throughout the day.

We’re very pleased announce that the Mix Munkies will be teaming up with DJ Marky B (resident from Helsinki) to give the closing performance on the main stage at Leicester Pride 2010.

Lisa Lashes and JFK

On Saturday 16th January, We are DJing alongside Lisa Lashes and JFK at a massive blow out party at Helsinki. Its always an amazing night when Lisa plays at Helsinki, she breaks away from her usual material and plays a more housey set that you won’t hear anywhere else.

It’s just two weeks until the Mix Munkies 1st Birthday at Quebec. We’re transforming the club into an indoor jungle and launching our very own cocktail that tastes like parma violets. Keep an eye out for the Facebook event, we’ll be setting it up shortly.
